Owning the stihl ms 462 c-m for 1 year my thoughts on the stihl and how to saw has preformed the stihl 462 c-m in my opinion is a great chainsaw for any type.

cuinrearview. I ran a 462 last fall and thought it was a nice saw. Very light and great power bucking hard wood with a 28" bar. At this point in it's life cycle I would be hesitant to recommend it even for occasional milling. It would probably perform the task fine, but we don't know yet how it will hold up long term.

The torque was nice, but even my busted 346 was way better on my back before it died. 14.5 lbs is pretty light for a 75cc saw! The Stihl 462 might be able to touch it on peak HP, but not torque. The 572 is 70cc and 14.5 pounds, the 576 is 73.5cc and 15.2 pounds and the 462 is 72.2cc with 13pounds of weight only.
